Three Cheers: This is For All the Teachers Out There

My dad is probably going to have a coronary whilst simultaneously crapping his pants, but I decided to be a teacher. I want to teach 8th grade English (probably because I had an awesome teacher that year). I ran across this on You Tube and it had me cracking up. I used to teach Sunday School and it used to bother the heck out of me when people would be acting like little bastards while I was teaching. I don’t think that kids in America would get crunk with their teachers if teachers were allowed to do this:

I know it’s wrong and I’m probably going to go to Hell for it, but that made my day.

Three Cheers: Barbie Approved Blogger

There are so many people that write so beautifully that it’s hard to narrow it down to one person. I was going to have my little sister choose for me, but I think I knew from the start who I wanted to pick as My Barbie Approved Blogger. DeeJay, my soul sister, picked me and I was tickled and honored all at the same time, so I wanted to pick someone whose writing touched me.

I had to ask permission before I did this because some people are really sensitive about their writing and who actually views it. Finding her blog seemed random at the time, but, as I read more and more of her entries, I knew that it was supposed to happen. I’m not a big believer is kismet, but the truth of her words and the timing of me discovering her was much too convenient to be an accident. She removed her earlier entries and I hope she puts them back up. Her voice is entirely too strong to be silenced and I know that she has much that still needs to be said.

She breaks my heart. She’s actually made me cry a couple of times, and I don’t do that easily. She’s made me laugh. She’s made me want to throw my pillow at the monitor and fly to California to strangle a couple of her exes. So many calamitous things have happened to her. So many setbacks and deterrents have been put in her path. I root for her because I see so much of myself in her. Our situations are different, yet similar. Both of us are single gals looking for that prince and that happily ever after that we were taught to believe existed. I root for her because she’s willing to go the distance to get what she wants out of life and I respect that trait in a person.

She is so strong, so fiery, so independent. She’s so brave. I can’t find the words to say how much encouragement she has given me, how much hope she has provided, and how much she has made me think. She doesn’t blog about politics or religion. She doesn’t incite people or force her beliefs on anyone. She’s just chill. She writes about love, and hate, and all the bull that falls in between. She writes about her life, about her struggles, about her quest to become a better person and to live out her dreams.

I’ve probably embarrassed her beyond all reason and she probably thinks I’m a stalker now, but I don’t care. I think she’s wonderful and if you don’t like her, a plague upon your house! (just kidding….kinda)
